Great Sea Ray
The rays of the great sea can travel for many miles in great migratory patterns.
Acquisition Guide
The
Great Sea Ray is a fishing profession mount obtained by casting a line in Battle for Azeroth coastal and inland waters until one is hooked at random.
Fish BFA Zone Waters
Cast your line in any Battle for Azeroth zone — the mount does not need to be fished from a node, just cast freely near water in Zandalar or other BFA zones. Productive spots include the shoreline at the Forgotten Cove in Stormsong Valley at 78.43, 51.56, a small spot in Stormsong Valley at 34.34, 26.29, and coastal water at 19.9, 43.6 in Zuldazar.
Expect Extended Casting Sessions
The drop rate was reduced from its original high rate — one player confirmed the mount still drops after approximately 1, 300 casts in coastal water following the nerf, so extended fishing sessions across multiple BFA zones should eventually yield the mount.
Note Inventory Hotfix
The Great Sea Ray is no longer marked as unique, meaning you can hold multiple copies in your inventory at the same time — extras can be listed on the Auction House.
Tips
Rotating between different BFA zones each session is a viable approach — every BFA coastal or inland water body is a valid fishing location for this mount.
