Acquisition Guide
The Lucid Nightmare is a secret mount obtained by solving an elaborate multi-step puzzle spanning several zones, raids, and an underground maze during the Legion expansion.
Read the Inconspicuous Note
Head to Dalaran and find the Inconspicuous Note on the table inside Curiosities and Moore to begin the puzzle chain.
Solve the Ulduar Gear Puzzle
Enter Ulduar and defeat XT-002 Deconstructor, then pull the lever on the pile of scrap in the northwest corner of the room. Toggle the lights to form a gear pattern, then read the note that spawns.
Play the AQ40 Bejeweled Minigame
In Ahn'Qiraj 40, exit C'thun's room and take the path around to the right past the NPCs, then head up the stairs to the small altar. Click the Mind Larva to start a Bejeweled-style minigame and keep playing until another note spawns. A Shadoweave Mask is required for a later step and can be crafted or purchased from the Auction House.
Enter the Deepholm Dark Fissure
Travel to Deepholm and enter the Crumbling Depths cave at 58, 25. Locate the large rock with a fissure next to it at 63.76, 22.51 and drop down inside. Click the Dingy Plaque, then equip the Shadoweave Mask and type /reload so the skull inside becomes interactable.
