Acquisition Guide
The Brilliant Direbeak is a falcosaur mount obtained by raising a Direbeak Hatchling through a multi-step quest chain in the Legion expansion, starting with killing the Direbeak Matriarch in Stormheim during her world quest.
Kill the Direbeak Matriarch
Travel to Stormheim and defeat the Direbeak Matriarch during her world quest. This causes the orphaned Direbeak Hatchling NPC to spawn nearby.
Feed and Adopt the Hatchling
Interact with the spawned Direbeak Hatchling NPC and feed it its favourite food. Vendors near the closest flightpath to the world quest area sell the required food, so pick some up before approaching the hatchling.
Level Your Hatchling to 25
Battle with your Direbeak Hatchling until it reaches pet level 25 — this is required before subsequent quest steps become available.
Visit a Named City
Take your summoned Direbeak Hatchling to the named city indicated by the quest chain.
Defeat Rose Taipan Pets
Use your Direbeak Hatchling to defeat 3 Rose Taipan wild pets in battle.
Complete Zone World Quests
Complete 5 World Quests in a specific zone with your Direbeak Hatchling summoned and active.
Win Pet Battle World Quests
