The Mudback Riverbeast is a dark brown riverbeast mount added in patch 6.2, obtained as a reward from a rare Naval Mission completed through the Warlords of Draenor Shipyard.
Unlock Your Shipyard
Build the Shipyard garrison feature to gain access to Naval Missions. No specific Shipyard level is required — even a level 2 Shipyard can generate the mount mission.
Send Ships on Missions
The Mudback Riverbeast is a reward from a rare Naval Mission that appears randomly with no known prerequisite missions or completion requirements — it is purely RNG-based.
Check Missions Regularly
As of December 1, 2015, rare Naval Missions received an increased chance to appear, so logging in and refreshing available missions across characters improves the frequency at which the mount mission can show up.
