Acquisition Guide

The Trained Riverwallow is a riverbeast mount obtained as a quest reward in Warlords of Draenor by building a Stables in your Garrison, capturing a wild riverbeast with a lasso, and completing 9 Riverbeast Training quests.

1

Build Your Garrison Stables

Construct a Stables building in your Garrison, which occupies a Large Plot. A level 1 or higher Stables is required to begin training any of the 6 trained mounts in Warlords of Draenor.

2

Capture a Wild Riverbeast

Use a lasso obtained from your Stables to capture a wild riverbeast out in Draenor. This mount-in-training will then be available for you to ride during your training quests.

3

Complete Riverbeast Training Quests

Complete all 9 Riverbeast Training quests, which involve riding your captured riverbeast and killing monsters around Draenor while mounted on it. The Trained Riverwallow requires 9 total training quests, more than a wolf or elekk but fewer than a boar, talbuk, or clefthoof.

4

Claim Your Trained Riverwallow

After finishing all 9 training quests, the Trained Riverwallow is added permanently to your mount collection. If you later demolish your Stables, you will keep this mount along with any other trained mounts you completed.

Tips

  • The Trained Riverwallow does not swim at 100% speed, so factor that in when traversing water in Draenor.

  • The wild riverbeast can be captured without water walking buffs, though it requires patience navigating its watery habitat.

  • See the video guides for a visual walkthrough of the capture and training quest process.
