Giant Coldsnout
Its snout is not just cold but wet. Not a pleasant way to wake up.
Acquisition Guide
The
Giant Coldsnout is a mount that drops from the
Invader's Forgotten Treasure or
Routed Invader's Crate of Spoils, earned by achieving Gold or Platinum ratings in Draenor Garrison invasions.
Build a Level 3 Garrison
You need a Level 3 Garrison in Frostfire Ridge (Horde) or Shadowmoon Valley (Alliance) to access garrison invasions. Running multiple garrisons across multiple characters increases the number of bags you can earn each week.
Obtain Shadow Council Missives
Purchase the Shattrath Harbor or The Heart of Shattrath missives from the Garrison Quartermaster to trigger Shadow Council invasions — these are the easiest invasions to solo for a Platinum rating after patch 9.0.
Earn Gold or Platinum Rating
Score at least 1000 points during a garrison invasion to earn a
Gold Victory and receive the
Invader's Forgotten Treasure. Reach 1300 points for Platinum to also receive the
Routed Invader's Crate of Spoils, giving you two bags with a chance at the mount.
Avoid Iron Horde Invasions
Do not use Scouting Missive: The Pit or other Iron Horde invasion missives — these invasions are difficult to solo for Platinum after patch 9.0. Stick to Shadow Council invasions for a reliable Platinum each week.
Open Your Reward Bags
The
Giant Coldsnout has approximately a 1% drop chance from each bag, and a single bag can contain more than one of the four possible mounts: Giant Coldsnout,
Garn Steelmaw,
Smoky Direwolf, and
Shadowhide Pearltusk.
Tips
Running four garrisons simultaneously (two Alliance, two Horde) maximizes the number of invasion bags you can collect each reset.
