Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent
This is a descendant of the irascible Nalak. Lightning erupts from its scales and arcs over the saddle. Dare you sit?
Acquisition Guide
The Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent is a mount that drops from Nalak, the world boss on the Isle of Thunder, introduced in Mists of Pandaria patch 5.2.
Travel to Isle of Thunder
Head to the Isle of Thunder and locate Nalak at 60.5, 37.3. Nalak is a world boss, so you can enter and defeat him solo at max level.
Defeat Nalak Weekly
Defeat Nalak at 60.5, 37.3 on the Isle of Thunder each week. The drop rate is extremely low, so use your bonus roll each week to get an additional chance at the mount.
Farm on Multiple Characters
Each of your characters can kill Nalak at 60.5, 37.3 and use a bonus roll weekly, multiplying your weekly attempts — one player reported receiving the mount after 532 kills across 15 alts while consistently using bonus rolls.
Unlock Cloud Serpent Riding
To ride this mount, you need Cloud Serpent Riding from the Order of the Cloud Serpents. Note that while the mount is account-wide, any alt without Cloud Serpent Riding will be unable to use it.
Tips
The mount dropped from a bonus roll for at least one player, confirming bonus rolls are valid loot sources for this mount.
August Celestial reputation is NOT required to ride this mount — only Cloud Serpent Riding from the Order of the Cloud Serpents is needed.
