Acquisition Guide
The Reins of the Black Primal Raptor is one of three possible mounts hatched from a 
Primal Egg, which drops from Elite Dinosaurs on the Isle of Giants, located north of Kun'Lai Summit.
Travel to Isle of Giants
Head to the Isle of Giants, the island north of Kun'Lai Summit in Pandaria. The island is populated by Elite Dinosaurs, including Direhorns, each with 2 to 13 million health.
Farm Elite Dinosaurs
Defeat Elite Dinosaurs across the isle — each one has a chance to drop a Primal Egg. The egg is unique, meaning you can only hold one at a time, so you cannot loot a second one while one is already in your bags.
Wait for Egg to Hatch
Once looted, the Primal Egg takes several days to hatch into a 
Cracked Primal Egg, which then grants a 100% chance to hatch one of three raptors: Reins of the Black Primal Raptor, 
Reins of the Green Primal Raptor, or 
Reins of the Red Primal Raptor.
Alternative: Treasures of Thunder King
The Primal Egg can also be obtained from 
Treasures of the Thunder King in the Throne of Thunder on LFR difficulty, providing an additional source alongside farming the Isle of Giants.
Tips
Because the Primal Egg is unique and cannot be looted while one is already in your bags, the drop rate listed on community databases is artificially lower than reality — many players farm bones toward 9999 with an egg already in their inventory.
