The Sandstone Drake is a profession-crafted mount obtained through Alchemy that transforms your character into a drake capable of carrying one passenger.
Reach Required Skill Levels
You need 525 Alchemy to craft the 
Vial of the Sands, and 450 Archaeology to begin finding Tol'vir dig sites.
Switch Zone to Cataclysm Version
Travel to Uldum and speak with Zidormi at 56, 35.2 in Uldum to switch to the Cataclysm version of the zone, as Tol'vir dig sites will not spawn in the new version.
Farm Tol'vir Dig Sites
Tol'vir artifacts are found exclusively in Uldum. Survey dig sites across Uldum until you uncover a 
Canopic Jar, which contains the 
Recipe: Vial of the Sands.
Purchase Vendor Materials
Buy the 
Sands of Time and 
Pyrium-Laced Crystalline Vial from Yasmin, located at the top left corner of the T-shaped lake in the northwest of Uldum.
Farm Remaining Crafting Materials
Gather 
Pyrium Bars using the daily Transmute: Pyrium Bar alchemy transform, farm 
Volatile Fire by fishing in Twilight Highlands at 42, 84 or Mount Hyjal at 48, 78, and collect 
Volatile Water from the farming spot in Twilight Highlands at 68, 47.
Craft the Vial of the Sands
Once you have the recipe and all required materials, use your 525 Alchemy to craft the Vial of the Sands, which teaches your character the Sandstone Drake mount.
Tips
Using the daily Transmute: Pyrium Bar as a Transmutation Master can yield more than 3
Pyrium Bars on some days.The
Recipe: Vial of the Sands can drop from the Canopic Jar even without 525 Alchemy, though 525 Alchemy is required to actually craft the mount.
