Acquisition Guide
The Purple Netherwing Drake is a 280% speed flying mount rewarded from the quest Malfas the Purple Netherwing Drake, earned by reaching Exalted with the Netherwing faction through daily quests in Shadowmoon Valley, with the final step taking you to Shattrath City to claim your drake.
Start Netherwing Rep Grind
Head to Netherwing Ledge in Shadowmoon Valley and begin building reputation with the Netherwing faction through daily quests. The daily quest A Slow Death awards 250 rep and requires collecting 12 Fel Glands from nether rays on Netherwing Ledge to poison the orcs working around the ledge.
Complete Profession Daily Quests
Pick up the Netherdust Pollen daily (250 rep) if you are an herbalist, which requires gathering 40 pollen from netherdust bushes around the ledge — equivalent daily quests exist for miners and skinners as well.
Farm Netherwing Crystal Daily
Complete the Netherwing Crystal daily quest for 250 rep by collecting 40 Netherwing Crystals, which drop from flayers on the ledge and mobs in the mines south of the encampment, with reported strong drop rates from the fallen at the back of the mine.
Reach Exalted and Claim Drake
Once you reach Exalted with Netherwing, the quest chain leads you to Barthamus in Shattrath City, where you can choose your free drake. Select Malfas to receive the Reins of the Purple Netherwing Drake.
Purchase Remaining Drakes
After receiving your Purple Netherwing Drake, you can purchase the other five drake mounts from Drake Dealer Hurlunk in Shadowmoon Valley at 65.4, 85.8 for 
200 gold each.
Tips
All six Netherwing Drakes transform into a special fel-colored drake whenever you enter Netherwing Ledge, regardless of which color you are riding.
