Red Qiraji Battle Tank
This (relatively) domesticated silithid is at home only in the desert sands of Ahn'Qiraj.
Acquisition Guide
The Red Qiraji Battle Tank is a 100% speed mount usable only inside Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, obtained as a world drop from mobs within the raid, most notably Anubisath Sentinels and Obsidian Eradicators.
Enter Temple of Ahn'Qiraj
Enter Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40) and clear the patrol at the start of the instance before proceeding to the Anubisath Sentinels.
Farm Anubisath Sentinels
Charge the pack of 4 Anubisath Sentinels near the entrance, kill 3 of them, then exit and re-enter the instance — the 3 killed Sentinels will have respawned, allowing you to repeat the cycle indefinitely.
Focus Sentinels One By One
Kill each Anubisath Sentinel one at a time rather than using area attacks like Cleave or Thunder Clap, because when one dies, the surviving Sentinels are healed for roughly 42–45% of their max health and gain random shared buffs.
Expect A Low Drop Rate
The Red Qiraji Resonating Crystal has a 1–2% drop chance from Anubisath Sentinels and Obsidian Eradicators, making it considerably rarer than the yellow, blue, and green versions of the bug mount.
Claim Your Red Crystal
Once the Red Qiraji Resonating Crystal drops, use it to add the Red Qiraji Battle Tank to your mount collection — in Wrath of the Lich King, obtaining it also awards the achievement 'Why? Because It's Red.'
Tips
Protection Warriors can solo this farm efficiently; see the video guide for a full walkthrough of the reset loop.
The red version drops at a noticeably lower rate than the other three colors — one player recorded 6 yellow, 3 blue, and 3 green crystals across 18 resets before completing their red drop tally.
