Acquisition Guide

The Clayscale Hornstrider is a mount obtained from The Big Dig: Traitor's Rest event, dropping from the end boss Doomshadow or from various Tomes looted during the event.

Travel to The Big Dig

Head to The Big Dig: Traitor's Rest event in The Azure Span and participate until the event reaches its conclusion.

Defeat Doomshadow

At the end of the event, a large named dragon called Doomshadow spawns — defeat it for a chance at the Clayscale Hornstrider dropping directly from its loot.

Loot Event Tomes

Tomes of varying quality are rewarded during the event, including Immaculate Tome, Preserved Djaradin Tome, Preserved Dragonkin Tome, Preserved Isles Tome, Dusty Niffen Tome, Dusty Drakonid Tome, Dusty Dracthyr Tome, Dusty Djaradin Tome, and Dusty Centaur Tome — the mount has been confirmed to drop from both blue and epic quality tomes, with higher quality tomes assumed to have a higher drop chance.

Farm the Event Repeatedly

The Big Dig: Traitor's Rest has no lockout, meaning you can run it as many times as you want on the same character throughout the day — one player confirmed receiving the mount on their 3rd Immaculate Tome loot on the same character.

Tips

The mount has been confirmed to drop from both blue (Preserved) and epic (Immaculate) quality tomes, so looting any tome during the event is worth doing.
