Acquisition Guide

The Black War Bear is a mount rewarded from completing the 'For The Horde!' (or 'For The Alliance!') achievement by slaying all of the opposing faction's leaders.

Slay the Alliance Leaders

As Horde, complete the 'For The Horde!' achievement by killing all four Alliance leaders: King Varian Wrynn in Stormwind, the leader in Ironforge, the leader in Darnassus, and the leader in the Exodar. Speed is critical — strike each city before the opposing faction can organize a defense.

Collect Mount from Mail

After the final leader kill, check your in-game mailbox to receive the Black War Bear, delivered with a letter from the opposing faction's leader. Despite being called a black war bear, the mount appears as a dark purple shade.

Tips

After completing the first few cities in one night, the opposing faction may anticipate your final destination — waiting roughly 45 minutes before approaching the last city can allow their defense to disperse.
