Acquisition Guide

The Arcanist's Manasaber is a quest reward earned by completing the Insurrection questline in Suramar, culminating in a series of quests tied to defeating Gul'dan in the Nighthold raid.

1

Complete the Insurrection Questline

Work through the full Insurrection questline in Suramar. This is required before the final quest chain that rewards the mount becomes available.

2

Defeat Gul'dan in the Nighthold

Enter the Nighthold raid and defeat Gul'dan, the final boss. After he is killed, an optional quest called Lord of the Shadow Council becomes available.

3

Turn In Lord of the Shadow Council

Turn in the Lord of the Shadow Council quest to Khadgar, who is present in the room where you defeated Gul'dan. Do not leave the raid or hearth out before doing this.

4

Accept The Eye of Aman'thul Quest

Khadgar will immediately offer you The Eye of Aman'thul quest after your turn-in. Click on him to take a portal back to Dalaran and complete this quest there.

5

Pick Up Fate of the Nightborne

Travel to Shal'aran in Suramar and pick up the Fate of the Nightborne quest from Oculeth. He will provide a portal to the Nighthold, where a short roleplay sequence takes place before you can complete the quest with him.

6

Complete Fate of the Nightborne

Speak to Oculeth inside the Nighthold after the roleplay sequence concludes to complete the Fate of the Nightborne quest and receive the Arcanist's Manasaber.

Tips

  • This mount is account-wide and can be used on alts, but the Masquerade ability that grants a free disguise must be unlocked separately on each character.

  • If you leave the Nighthold after killing Gul'dan without talking to Khadgar first, he will relocate to the entrance of the instance without the quest, and there is no way to return to the final platform to retrieve it — speak to Khadgar immediately after the kill.
