Big Rocketeer: Gold
Complete The Real Big Race with the Rocketeer within 20 tolls.
Big Rocketeer: Gold requires you to complete The Real Big Race using the Rocketeer mount in 20 tolls or fewer, rewarding the Race MiniZep Controller toy.
Start the Race
Begin The Real Big Race at the starting area at 54.5, 88.2. Choose the Rocketeer mount. The Rocketeer has three core abilities: a speed boost that also makes you immune to snare (5 seconds, 10-second cooldown), Giant Leap which launches you high into the air and deploys a parachute (15-second cooldown), and Cancel Parachute to drop early from a Giant Leap.
Take the First Rocket
Progress through the course toward the rocket cutoff area at 67.5, 86.8. The power-up stations cycle in a fixed order: Spring, then Teleporter, then Rocket. Wait for the Rocket power-up if needed. Once launched, save your speed boost so you gain forward momentum to reach the ledge, then run to the highest point and use Giant Leap to clear the wall and reach the first banner.
Pass Through Purple Post
Continue to the Purple Post at 70.6, 71.6. Use the jump point at 70, 81.7 to ascend and land at 70.7, 79.3. Do not fly over any of the carnival game areas such as the Turtle Ring Toss arena, as the game will detect it and slam you to the ground with a stun.
Take the Second Rocket
At the leap-off point at 67.9, 47.2, wait for the second Rocket power-up to spawn if it is not yet available. Once launched, use Giant Leap when you are close to the top of the arc to maximize your height and distance.
Reach Green and Red Posts
After the second rocket, glide toward the Green Post at 64.6, 20.8, then proceed to the Red Post at 51, 18.4. You can chain Giant Leap with a spring to slow-fall a long distance, potentially carrying you from the top of the hill nearly to the finish line. Watch for low-hanging trees near the final stretch that can interrupt your parachute.
Cross the Finish Line
Head to the Finish Line at 54.5, 87.6 and complete the race. You must finish within 20 tolls to earn the Big Rocketeer: Gold achievement and unlock the Race MiniZep Controller toy.
Tips
If you have reached the third and final Red Post at 51, 18.4 with 20 or fewer tolls remaining, you can click the nearby Darkmoon Faire portal at approximately 51, 22 to teleport out to Elwynn Forest or Mulgore, then click the portal to return. The toll timer stops after you return, giving you unlimited time to reach the finish line.
Getting the angle correct on the rocket launch and using your speed boost only at the peak of the rocket's arc are the two most common mistakes that cause failed runs.
