So. Many. Pets. is a collection achievement that rewards the pet Stormwing upon collecting 600 unique pets.

Collect Wild Pets

Wild pets are the largest single source available, with 303 obtainable by battling and capturing them across the world.

Purchase Vendor Pets

100 pets can be purchased directly from vendors, making this the second largest source of obtainable pets.

Craft Profession Pets

51 pets can be crafted through professions, so leveling relevant crafting professions contributes meaningfully toward the 600 total.

Farm World Drop Pets

122 pets are available as world drops from enemies across the game; cageable world drop pets can also be purchased from other players on the Auction House.

Complete Quests and Achievements

30 pets are rewarded from quests and another 30 from achievements, including pets earned through the progression chain leading up to So. Many. Pets. itself — note that Iron Starlette is excluded from the obtainable count.

Collect World Event Pets

39 pets are available from World Events, so participating in in-game seasonal events is an important part of reaching 600 unique pets.

Tips

  • 676 total pets are obtainable without spending real money, which exceeds the 600 required, so you do not need any store, TCG, or promotional pets to earn this achievement.

  • Your total pet count is capped at 1, 000 learned pets; if you have been collecting duplicates, reduce non-combat and cageable pets to one or two each to stay under the cap and continue learning new ones.
