Fish Gotta Swim, Birds Gotta Eat

This achievement can only be completed during the Assault on Skettis daily event. The Darting Swift Feather birds will not drop a lootable fish outside of the daily — the fish object will be visible and glowing but cannot be looted.

Head to the small riverbed at 51.64, 7.24 in Skettis Ruins, one level above the main Assault on Skettis area, where you can observe 4 Darting Swift Feather birds looping in a small area. Note that only the birds circling the riverbed perform fish catches — birds in 5-meter cell groups do not dive for fish and can be ignored.

Each Darting Swift Feather performs a "Fish Check" every 1–2 minutes. If a bird finds a fish, it will dive into the river and fly off carrying a buff. A freshly respawned bird will typically attempt to catch a fish within 2 minutes of respawning, so kill a bird to trigger a fresh respawn, then watch that bird closely.

To prevent other players from killing the bird before it catches a fish, CC a freshly spawned bird for approximately 2 minutes — Hunters can use Frost Trap, and other classes have their own CC methods. After 2 minutes, drop combat (using Feign Death, Salyin War Banner, or a similar combat-drop ability) so the bird resumes its normal behavior and flies down to catch a fish.

Once the bird dives and grabs a fish, it gains the Caught Fish buff and begins flying upward. Tag and kill the Darting Swift Feather before it flies out of range or finishes consuming the fish and becomes an Energized Swift Feather. A confirmed kill location is at 53.91, 11.43 in Skettis Ruins.

After the bird dies, a clickable fish object appears on the ground — loot it to receive Spiced Barbed Trout in your bags, then right-click it to eat it and earn the achievement. Eating the fish also grants a 30-minute buff that increases versatility by 60%, boosting damage and healing by 60% and reducing damage taken by 30%.
