Defeat each of the following creatures while evolved in the Lost Veil Anzu.

King of the Monsters is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating each of the required creatures while in an evolved form inside the Lost Veil Anzu zone in Spire of Arak.

1

Acquire the Scouting Missive

Purchase Scouting Missive: Lost Veil Anzu from your Garrison vendor. Buy several copies so you can abandon and re-acquire the quest freely without losing access to the zone. The item is consumed on use, so if you abandon the quest you will need another copy to restart.

2

Create a Personal Raid Group

Before entering the zone, convert your group to a raid — even alone — so that quest progress pauses, giving you full control over your evolution timer without outside players interfering.

3

Enter Lost Veil Anzu

Fly to Lost Veil Anzu at 73.5, 34.6 in the Spires of Arak. As soon as you enter with the active quest, a parasite automatically attaches to you, indicated by a debuff and an on-screen emote.

4

Kill and Consume Mobs

Kill goblins or ogres in the southern part of the zone, then loot each corpse and right-click it a second time to consume it. Consuming five mobs of one type triggers your evolution: five goblins transforms you into a Shadow Hulk, and five ogres transforms you into a Gluttonous Giant. The transformation lasts 3 minutes. For the correct evolution mix, aim for combinations such as four goblins and one ogre, or three goblins and two ogres, and confirm you are on the right track when your fourth consume ends with a message containing the word 'Mind'.

5

Locate and Defeat Each Rare

While evolved, defeat each of the required rare creatures at their spawn locations: Shadow Hulk at 71.4, 33.2 (cave entrance at 73.4, 34.9), Gluttonous Giant at 74.6, 43.4 (alternate at 74.7, 43.3), Mecha Plunderer at 74.4, 38.4 (alternate at 74.4, 38.7), Morphed Sentient at 73.8, 45.8 (alternate at 73.3, 45.0), and Giga Sentinel at 71.6, 44.8 (alternate at 71.6, 45.2). Rares spawn one at a time in random order, approximately 15 minutes after the previous one was killed. To preserve your evolution when a rare spawns, bring the rare to 50% health and then consume a corpse to refresh your transformation before finishing it off.

Tips

  • If you kill a rare you do not need while camping for the last one, use your Garrison Hearthstone immediately after — its 20-minute cooldown aligns with the rare respawn timer, letting you track the next spawn precisely.

  • Avoid doing this achievement on the daily Apexis quest day for Lost Veil Anzu, as the area will have more players who can disrupt your spawns and evolution timing; use the Scouting Missive on any other day instead.
