Blind Lake Sturgeon Angler
Catch 100 Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon fish in Draenor.
Blind Lake Sturgeon Angler requires you to catch 100
Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon fish in Draenor, and can be completed entirely in Shadowmoon Valley.
Gear Up Your Fishing
Before heading out, equip a fishing pole such as the
Ephemeral Fishing Pole,
Arcanite Fishing Pole, or
Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole, and add a fishing line like
High Test Eternium Fishing Line,
Rook's Lucky Fishin' Line, or
Reinforced Fishing Line — these work like enchants and stack with lures such as
Worm Supreme or
Heat-Treated Spinning Lure. You can further boost your skill with
Hightfish Cap or
Tentacled Hat,
Boots of the Bay or
Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots, and
Formula: Enchant Gloves - Angler or
Formula: Enchant Gloves - Fishing, with all bonuses combined reaching up to 425 additional fishing skill.
Fish the Rock at 41, 48
Head to Shadowmoon Valley and stand on the rock jutting out of the water at 41, 48 — you only catch
Blind Lake Sturgeon here, no bait is needed, and approximately one third of catches will be the
Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon required for the achievement, with all 100 catches typically taking around 30 minutes.
Try the Waterfall Spot at 57, 64
Alternatively, fish at 57, 64 in Shadowmoon Valley, just above the waterfall south-southeast of the Draakorium flight point, where the
Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon drop rate has been observed to be significantly higher than the lake below — cast between the waterfall and the bluish rock without moving or changing direction between casts.
Tips
The waterfall spot at 57, 64 produced 20 consecutive Enormous Blind Lake Sturgeon in testing with no bait and no pool, suggesting this specific location has a substantially higher enormous catch rate than other nearby water.
