Defeat 50 contenders while wearing a contender's outfit purchased during Day of the Dead.

Calavera is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating 50 contenders while wearing a contender's outfit purchased during Day of the Dead.

1

Purchase a Contender's Costume

During Day of the Dead, purchase one of the following costumes: "Blooming Rose" Contender's Costume, "Purple Phantom" Contender's Costume, "Snowy Owl" Contender's Costume, "Santo's Sun" Contender's Costume, or "Night Demon" Contender's Costume.

2

Both Players Must Wear Costumes

Both you and your opponent must be wearing a contender's costume for kills to count toward the achievement — kills without a costume on either participant award no credit.

3

Initiate Duels Properly

Right-click your opponent's portrait and select 'Duel' to start each fight; fights not initiated this way are treated as practice matches and do not count toward the 50 kills.

4

Farm Kills in Siege of Orgrimmar

Enter Siege of Orgrimmar with a partner — when you die and release inside a raid instance, you respawn at the same point with no corpse run and no resurrection timer, allowing rapid repeated kills. Have one player focus on accumulating kills while the other repeatedly releases and respawns; adding a third player lets the killing player land multiple killing blows per cycle, completing the 50 kills in a matter of minutes.

5

Automate the Respawn Process

To speed up the cycle, set up two Equipment Manager profiles — one with no gear (button 1) and one with full gear (button 2) — then use the macro /run RepopMe()AcceptResurrect()AcceptXPLoss() on a third button so the dying player can instantly release and respawn without navigating menus.

Tips

  • Complete this achievement on one character at a time rather than splitting kills across multiple characters, since the kill count is per-character.

  • Do not remove your contender's costume buff while low on health — kills made without the buff active do not count.
