Exploration Mission Specialist
Complete a garrison exploration mission.
Exploration Mission Specialist is earned by successfully completing a garrison exploration mission, meaning you must earn the mission reward — simply sending the mission is not enough.
Identify Exploration Missions
Garrison exploration missions are rare and appear infrequently in your mission table. They are identified by a treasure map icon next to their name instead of crossed swords, and only three are level 90 while three are marked as rare.
Buy Explorer's Notebook
If you are not seeing exploration missions naturally, purchase an 
Explorer's Notebook from your Garrison quartermaster for 5x 
Restored Artifact to immediately spawn one. Horde players buy from Srikka in Warspear, while Alliance players buy from Grakis in Stormshield.
Farm Restored Artifacts
To obtain Restored Artifacts, purchase 
Mote of Harmony or 
Spirit of Harmony from the Auction House, or farm them in Pandaria, then visit the Spirit of Harmony vendor at your faction's shrine in Pandaria to convert them into Restored Artifacts.
Complete Mission Successfully
Send your followers on the exploration mission and confirm the mission is successful — you must receive the mission reward for it to count toward this achievement.
