Kill 20 Ragewing Whelps in 10 seconds while fighting Ragewing the Untamed in Upper Blackrock Spire on Heroic difficulty.

Bridge Over Troubled Fire requires killing 20 Ragewing Whelps within 10 seconds while fighting Ragewing the Untamed in Upper Blackrock Spire on Heroic difficulty.

1

Set Dungeon to Heroic

At level 110 and above, Upper Blackrock Spire defaults to Mythic, not Heroic. Manually set the difficulty to Heroic before entering or the achievement will not be available.

2

Leave First Wave Alive

When Ragewing the Untamed flies up for the first time, do not kill any of the Ragewing Whelps that spawn — kite and crowd control them, but leave them all alive.

3

Damage Boss Lightly

Deal light damage to Ragewing the Untamed to avoid pushing him too far too fast; dropping him to around 60% before the first fly phase and around 30% before the second fly phase works well. If the boss takes too much damage too quickly, he may not send any add waves at all.

4

Stack and Burst Second Wave

After Ragewing the Untamed flies up a second time, wait for all whelps from both the first and second waves to be grouped together, then use your strongest AoE abilities to kill 20 or more of them within 10 seconds to trigger the achievement.

Tips

  • As of patch 9.0.5, the boss cannot be killed before he summons both add waves, so you can freely damage him to 1% and then wait for all adds to spawn before executing the AoE burst.
