A Gift of Earth and Fire
Defeat Magmolatus while Calamity and Ruination are still alive in Bloodmaul Slag Mines on Heroic difficulty.
A Gift of Earth and Fire is a 10-point Heroic difficulty achievement earned by defeating Magmolatus in Bloodmaul Slag Mines while both Calamity and Ruination remain alive throughout the entire encounter.
Enter on Heroic Difficulty
This achievement only works on Heroic difficulty. Mythic does not qualify, so set the dungeon to Heroic before entering Bloodmaul Slag Mines.
Damage Forgemaster Gog'duh Slowly
Attack Forgemaster Gog'duh with weak attacks only — hold all major damage cooldowns. He must stay alive long enough to spawn both elemental adds, Ruination and Calamity. If you kill him too quickly, one or both adds may not spawn, and Magmolatus will not grant credit for the achievement.
Let Both Adds Spawn
After pulling Forgemaster Gog'duh, he will summon Ruination and then Calamity. Do not attack or kill either add. Avoid standing in Ruination's Rough Smash, which stuns for 2 seconds, and interrupt Calamity's Firestorm when it channels.
Kill Forgemaster Gog'duh
Once both Ruination and Calamity are alive, kill Forgemaster Gog'duh. Avoid any AoE abilities that could accidentally damage or kill the two elemental adds during this phase.
Kill Magmolatus, Spare the Adds
Magmolatus will emerge from the furnace after Forgemaster Gog'duh dies. Burn him down using all saved damage cooldowns, but strictly avoid AoE spells. Both Ruination and Calamity must still be alive when Magmolatus dies to complete the achievement.
Tips
If your damage is too high in Dragonflight or later, remove all your gear (keeping only a low item level ranged weapon if needed to cast) and use the
Whole-Body Shrinka' toy to further reduce your damage output before engaging Forgemaster Gog'duh. If you also plan to complete the Come With Me If You Want to Live achievement in the same run, free Croman before the Magmolatus encounter, otherwise that achievement cannot be completed in the same lockout.
