Fain Would Lie Down
Defeat Beastlord Darmac in Blackrock Foundry on Normal difficulty or higher after causing him to mount each beast first:
Fain Would Lie Down requires you to defeat Beastlord Darmac in Blackrock Foundry on Normal difficulty or higher after forcing him to mount all three beasts: Cruelfang, Ironcrusher, and Dreadwing.
Enter Blackrock Foundry
Enter Blackrock Foundry and make your way to Beastlord Darmac. Do not face-pull him — you must deal at least a small amount of damage to trigger him mounting a beast.
Mount Cruelfang First
Position yourself closest to Cruelfang before engaging, deal a small amount of damage, and Darmac will mount whichever beast you are nearest to. The recommended order is Cruelfang first, as this is the easiest starting point — after Cruelfang dies, Darmac gains Cruelfang's Swiftness and can use Rend and Tear while unmounted.
Mount Ironcrusher Second
After defeating Cruelfang, move to Ironcrusher and engage Darmac there so he mounts it. When Ironcrusher dies, Darmac gains Fury of the Elekk, allowing him to use Tantrum while unmounted.
Mount Dreadwing Last
Finally, position near Dreadwing and engage Darmac to trigger the mount, then defeat Dreadwing. The recommended order of Cruelfang, then Ironcrusher, then Dreadwing keeps the encounter at its lowest difficulty, as the boss only gains different beast abilities in a different order but the final phase remains the same regardless of order chosen.
Tips
See the video guide for a visual walkthrough of the encounter positioning.
Watch for the Heavy Spear ability — if it pins you down before Darmac mounts a beast, the achievement attempt will fail; stay mobile during the initial phase and deal just enough damage to trigger the mount before the spear is thrown.
