Between Arak and a Hard Place is a 10-point achievement earned by completing the Shadows Gather and Securing Southport storylines in Spires of Arak, rewarding the Treasure Map: Spires of Arak.
Complete Shadows Gather
Work through all ten quests in the Shadows Gather storyline in order: The Shadows of Skettis, Hidden in Plain Sight, Adherents of the Sun God, Orders From On High, The Crone, A Charming Deception, Echo Hunters, All Due Respect, Syth's Secret, and finally A Gathering of Shadows.
Begin Securing Southport
After completing Shadows Gather, pick up the Securing Southport storyline starting with One of Our Own, then Inspecting the Troops, followed by Orders, Commander?
Choose an Outpost Quest Line
At Orders, Commander? you will be asked to choose an outpost quest line — either Smuggler's Den or another available option — to continue and complete the Securing Southport storyline.
Tips
If you chose the Trading Post as your Garrison building and cannot access the Securing Southport quests, you will need to switch to a different building to unlock the quest chain.
If you are stuck with no quests available in the zone for the Securing Southport section, find Dusk-Seer Irizzar and pick up A Lack of Wasps to re-enter the quest chain.
