The Danger Zone is a 10-point Winter Veil achievement earned by shooting down another player's Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller with your own.

Obtain the Flyer Controller

The Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller can be found inside a Stolen Present, which is a reward from the daily Winter Veil quest You're a Mean One. It originally appeared in Winter Veil gifts under the tree in Ironforge (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde) in 2013, but the Stolen Present is now the primary source, with a low drop chance.

Find a Second Player

Both you and another player must each have the Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller — use the Premade Groups finder under Custom and create a listing for the achievement to locate someone else who has the toy, or ask in guild chat, trade chat, or yell chat near the holiday vendors.

Shoot Down Their Flyer

Once both players have deployed their flyers, press 1 to shoot; it takes several shots to bring down an opposing flyer, so keep firing until the other player's flyer is destroyed to earn the achievement.

Tips

  • If your flyer suddenly stops and you are stunned, it may be because your flyer flew too far from your character or the timer expired — not necessarily because you were shot down, so reposition closer before trying again.

  • The Stolen Present has a low chance of containing the Crashin' Thrashin' Flyer Controller, so obtaining it from the daily quest You're a Mean One may take multiple days of the Winter Veil event.
