Proving Yourself: Endless Damage (Wave 30) (Level 90)
Successfully complete Wave 30 of the Basic Damage (Endless) trial at the Proving Grounds.
Proving Yourself: Endless Damage (Wave 30) (Level 90) requires you to survive and defeat 30 consecutive waves of enemies in the Endless Basic Damage trial at the Proving Grounds, rewarding the title The Proven Assailant.
Understand Gear Scaling
All gear scales down to item level 463 inside the Proving Grounds, and legendary cloak procs, legendary meta gems, sha-touched gems, and tier set bonuses are all disabled. Gems and enchants do not scale down, so prioritize off-tier gear with your desired stats and the maximum number of gem sockets possible.
Choose Optimal Trinkets
The 
Zen Alchemist Stone and the Darkmoon Faire trinket are strong choices because their procs perform well above their item level, and trinkets with strong procs on a low internal cooldown are also effective since each wave lasts exactly one minute.
Reforge Into Mastery and Crit
A Destruction Warlock player found that reforging into mastery and crit allowed them to reach wave 36, whereas haste reforging resulted in wipes around waves 15-17, suggesting mastery and crit is the stronger stat priority for this trial.
Select Your Talents and Pet
Use the Glyph of Conflagrate as a mandatory glyph, with the Havoc glyph also recommended, and bring a Healthstone and Siphon Life; use an Observer as your demon minion because its Spell Lock interrupt is valuable throughout the waves.
Bring Consumables
Flasks and food buffs are usable inside the Proving Grounds, but potions are not, so stock up on flasks and food before entering.
Handle Mantis Amber Spheres
Mantis enemies cast amber spheres that must be kited into other mobs to apply a 50% increased incoming damage debuff and a stun; do not stay too close to the mob being targeted by the sphere, as you can also be caught in the stun.
Tips
The prismatic socket from the Eye of the Black Prince is not disabled by the Proving Grounds scaling, so equipping a piece with that socket provides a free gem slot advantage.
Engineers can craft a helm to use cogwheel gems, which retain their full value after gear scaling.
