Quality & Quantity
Capture 50 rare battle pets.
Quality & Quantity requires you to capture 50 rare (blue quality) battle pets, and duplicate rare captures of the same pet count toward the total.
Identify Rare Pet Quality
As of patch 5.1, wild battle pets display a colored border and name matching their rarity during combat, so you can visually confirm a pet is rare (blue) without any addon or macro.
Use the Rarity Macro
If you want to confirm rarity programmatically, run this macro while in a pet battle: /run for i=1,C_PetBattles.GetNumPets(2) do SELECTED_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(C_PetBattles.GetName(2,i)..' - '.._G['BATTLE_PET_BREED_QUALITY'..C_PetBattles.GetBreedQuality(2,i)]) end
Capture Duplicates Freely
Capturing the same rare pet more than once still increments the achievement counter, so catching two rare Fledgling Buzzards, for example, counts as two progress toward the 50 total.
Manage Your Pet Slots
You can only own 3 of any distinct pet, so if you already have 3 of a pet but encounter another rare version of it in battle, release one copy first to free a slot and capture the rare — every rare captured counts toward progress.
