Loner and a Rebel
Complete each set of the Shado-Pan daily quests without a Shado-Pan companion or leaving Townlong Steppes.
Loner and a Rebel requires you to complete all three sets of Shado-Pan daily quests in Townlong Steppes while retaining the 'Choose a Shado-Pan Companion' debuff at turn-in, meaning you never actually select a companion.
Understand the Debuff Requirement
You must have the 'Choose a Shado-Pan Companion' debuff active when turning in each set of daily quests. You receive credit upon turning in the final bonus quest offered after completing each hub's initial quests.
Complete Omnia Mystics Quests
Head to Shan'ze Dao, the northernmost island, and complete the Omnia Mystics daily quests. The final quest in this hub is When The Dead Speak, which involves the mogu on the island — turn it in while still holding the debuff.
Complete Wu Kao Assassins Quests
Travel to Sra'vess, the westernmost island, and complete the Wu Kao Assassins daily quests. The final quest in this hub is Target of Opportunity: Sra'thik Hivelord, involving the mantids — turn it in with the debuff still active.
Complete Blackguard Defenders Quests
Go to Deadtalker's Plateau and Fire Camp Gai-Cho on the mainland and complete the Blackguard Defenders daily quests. The final quest in this hub is Cheng Bo!, involving the yaungol — turn it in while the debuff is still on you.
Stay in Townlong Steppes
Do not leave Townlong Steppes at any point during this process, as leaving the zone removes the 'Choose a Shado-Pan Companion' debuff. If you do leave and lose the debuff, abandon one of the Shado-Pan daily quests and reaccept it to reacquire the debuff.
Tips
Do not queue for a dungeon, LFR, or battleground while working on this achievement, as it removes the required 'Choose a Shado-Pan Companion' debuff.
You can complete this achievement while in a group and even while other party members have companions active — only you need to avoid selecting one yourself.
Completing each hub solo without a companion is straightforward and all three hubs can be finished without needing a companion at all.
