Deathcharger's Reins is a mount dropped by Baron Rivendare in Stratholme, obtainable by entering the dungeon solo and defeating him.
Understand the Drop Rate
Deathcharger's Reins has a 1% drop rate from Baron Rivendare, which was increased in patch 3.0.2 — this was actually the second time the drop rate had been raised, up from the original 1 in 5000 chance.
Enter via Back Door
Enter Stratholme through the back door to reach Baron Rivendare more efficiently, bypassing large portions of the dungeon and reducing your overall run time.
Clear to Baron Rivendare
Navigate through Stratholme, defeating the required bosses along the route including the spider-type boss (who can pull additional adds) and the banshee boss before reaching Baron Rivendare; a mage can complete a full run in 9 to 11 minutes depending on add pulls.
Manage Inventory Between Runs
Avoid running with full bags — collect blues, greens, and runecloth, and every 2 or 3 runs travel to Light's Hope Chapel to vendor or mail items to a bank alt or disenchanter to keep your bag space clear.
Tips
Hunters should dismiss their pet before the run, as mobs can still aggro a pet even at max level, forcing unnecessary combat that slows down each attempt; instead, use Feign Death from a safe zone if needed.
