Candle in the Wind
Defeat Blade Lord Ta'yak while all four braziers are lit in Heart of Fear on Normal or Heroic difficulty.
Candle in the Wind is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Blade Lord Ta'yak in Heart of Fear on Normal or Heroic difficulty while all four unlit braziers at the ends of the room have been lit during his phase 2 wind phase.
Enter Heart of Fear
Enter Heart of Fear and engage Blade Lord Ta'yak. Damage him down to 20% health, which triggers phase 2 and fills most of the room with winds.
Grab the Flame Bearer Buff
As Ta'yak reaches 20%, position yourself next to one of the four lit braziers near the center pillars and click it to receive the Flame Bearer buff, which lasts 30 seconds. There are four of these central flames available, so if you miss one, move to the next.
Light the First Side's Braziers
Let the wind carry you to whichever end of the room the boss moves to first — there are two unlit braziers on each end — and click both to light them while your Flame Bearer buff is active. The braziers stay lit once ignited, so you do not need to rush back.
Return for a Second Buff
Fight back through the wind to the center of the room and click one of the four central burning braziers again to gain a fresh Flame Bearer buff.
Light the Opposite Side
Travel to the opposite end of the room and click both remaining unlit braziers to light them. Once all four are lit and Blade Lord Ta'yak is defeated, the achievement is awarded.
Tips
This achievement is soloable at level 100 or higher — enter the raid alone and burn Ta'yak down, then execute the brazier mechanic during phase 2.
Stand directly on top of a central brazier as Ta'yak approaches 20% health and spam-click it — the interact cursor appears only briefly at the moment phase 2 begins, so being pre-positioned saves time.
