What Does This Button Do?
Use Xin the Weaponmaster's secret defense mechanism against him in Mogu'shan Palace on Heroic difficulty.
"What Does This Button Do?" is a 10-point achievement earned in Mogu'shan Palace on Heroic difficulty by activating both red crystals that spawn in the Crossbow Trap mouths and firing their beams at the Back Left trap during the Xin the Weaponmaster encounter.
Enter Mogu'shan Palace Heroic
Enter Mogu'shan Palace on Heroic difficulty and engage Xin the Weaponmaster. DPS him normally while being aware of the lionhead wall traps that activate in phases — Axes at the start, Blades at 66% health, and Crossbows at 33% health.
Assign Two Crystal Clickers
Assign one player to the Front Left of the room and one player to the Back Right of the room before the fight reaches 33%, as these are the two locations where red crystals will spawn inside the Crossbow Trap mouths when that phase activates.
Wait for the Click Emote
When Xin reaches 33% health and the Crossbow Traps activate, watch for the emote "You hear a faint clicking noise..." which signals that the crystals have spawned — the two crystals spawn roughly 30 seconds apart, so both players must be ready to click quickly before the first crystal shatters.
Click Both Crystals
Each assigned player clicks their crystal — clicking both causes red beams to fire at the Crossbow Trap in the Back Left of the room, triggering the secret defense mechanism against Xin and completing the achievement. Killing Xin is not required after this.
Tips
A Warlock can place two Demonic Gateways near each crystal location and solo-click both crystals by using the gateway to travel between them quickly when the Crossbows activate.
A healer positioned in the middle of the room, or a self-healing class such as a Shaman or Druid assigned as a clicker, helps sustain through the Arrow Traps from the ceiling while repositioning between crystals.
