Defeat Houndmaster Braun without killing any hounds in Scarlet Halls on Heroic Difficulty.
Humane Society requires you to defeat Houndmaster Braun in Scarlet Halls on Heroic difficulty without killing any hounds in the entire dungeon.
Avoid Killing All Hounds
Do not kill any hounds throughout the entire Scarlet Halls instance, not just during the Houndmaster Braun encounter — killing hounds anywhere in the dungeon will prevent the achievement from completing.
Use Meat Buckets on Packs
Use the buckets of meat found in the dungeon to put unavoidable roaming hound packs to sleep. These buckets do not respawn, so do not waste them — you can also throw a bucket at the human NPC that hounds are following, causing the hounds to kill him and then fall asleep on their own.
Handle Chained Dogs Carefully
Chained dogs will aggro but are limited to their chain length, so run well past them to force a reset — simply being out of melee range is not enough to reset them immediately. If you stay too close, their rage bar builds and upon reaching full they will break free; if this happens you must crowd-control them until Houndmaster Braun is dead, or you can throw a meat bucket at them to handle them safely.
Tips
Running straight to Houndmaster Braun without using the meat buckets will cause you to fail the achievement even if no hounds die — the buckets must be used to properly handle the hound packs. See the video guide for a full walkthrough.
