World Safari
Complete the Pet Safari achievements listed below.
World Safari is a meta-achievement that requires completing all Pet Safari sub-achievements by capturing wild battle pets across every zone, rewarding the title Zookeeper upon completion.
Capture Weather-Dependent Pets
Three pets require specific weather conditions: the Baby Ape on Jaguero Isle (rain only — Jaguero Isle and Cape of Stranglethorn have independent weather, so travel to the isle itself to check), the Arctic Fox Kit in The Storm Peaks (snow only), and the Silithid Hatchling in Tanaris (sandstorm only).
Capture Time-Dependent Pets
Three pets only appear at night: the Restless Shadeling spawns just after midnight (00:00) in a cellar outside Karazhan, the Stone Armadillo spawns around 7pm, and the Widow Spiderling appears at night near the Widow spiders in Duskwood.
Wait for Seasonal Pets
The Qiraji Guardling in Silithus is only available during Warcraft summer, and the Snowy Owl in Winterspring is only available during Warcraft winter — these two pets alone mean the achievement takes a minimum of one full in-game year cycle to complete.
Avoid Duplicate Captures
When you capture a pet that appears in multiple zones, it counts as captured for every zone simultaneously, so you only need one copy of each pet species regardless of how many zones list it.
Manage Your Pet Slots
You can only capture a wild pet if you have fewer than 3 of that pet already in your journal, so periodically check your pet counts to avoid being unable to capture a pet when you finally find it under the right conditions.
Tips
Capture the Snowy Owl in Winterspring as soon as Warcraft winter begins, since the Qiraji Guardling requires summer and both seasons cannot overlap — addressing these two sequentially is the fastest path through the time gate.
Because the Restless Shadeling only spawns after 00:00 server time, log in just after midnight to find it in the cellar outside Karazhan without a long wait.
