Capture a battle pet at less than 5% health.
That Was Close! requires you to capture a battle pet while it is below 5% of its maximum health.
Weaken a Wild Pet
Bring a wild pet's health extremely low before throwing a Pet Battle trap. A small frog in the Northern Barrens near the Forgotten Pools works — one player caught it at 11 out of 253 HP and earned the achievement.
Use Undead Pets Safely
Fight an undead pet to avoid accidentally killing it — their passive ability brings them back to life for one round after they die, giving you a safe window to capture at near-zero health. Losts of Lordaeron are level 1-2 and spawn around the Ruins of Lordaeron, on the upper floor above the Undercity.
Use a Terrible Turnip
A Terrible Turnip has an ability that cannot kill a pet, making it straightforward to reduce any wild pet to critical health without accidentally finishing it off before you capture it.
