Hopocalypse Now! is a 10-point Heroic difficulty achievement earned in Stormstout Brewery by smashing 100 Virmen with a single hammer swing.
Enter Stormstout Brewery
Enter Stormstout Brewery on Heroic difficulty and defeat Ook-Ook.
Position at the gauntlet ramp
After killing Ook-Ook, go outside the building and stand at the bottom of the first ramp, right between the two bottom posts. Do not go up the ramp — block it from below to funnel all Hoppers and Boppers down toward you.
Wait and accumulate Virmen
Stand at that position for at least 3 to 4 minutes, letting Hoppers continuously run down the ramps and stack on you. Single-target and kill the medium Virmen carrying hammers and bombs as they slowly walk down, since they deal high damage over time. Do not engage Hoptallus — the unlimited spawns stop once you enter his room and engage the boss.
Count enemies before swinging
Press V to enable enemy nameplates, then use this macro to count visible enemies in chat before grabbing a hammer: /run local count = 0 for i = 0, 10000, 1 do if _G["NamePlate"..i] ~= nil and _G["NamePlate"..i]:IsVisible() then count = count + 1 end end print(count) — if you want the count posted to instance chat instead, replace print(count) with SendChatMessage("Count: " .. count, "INSTANCE_CHAT"). If you think you have enough, count 30 more before acting to be safe.
Grab a hammer and swing
Once you have well over 100 Virmen stacked, pick up one of the hammers on the ground and use it to hit as many Virmen as possible in a single swing. If you do not get the achievement, remain in the same spot and continue accumulating Virmen, then try again.
Tips
If you are running this with others, have the tank and healer stack on one side using non-damaging aggro on the small Hoppers, while a second person taunts and kills the larger Boppers and Hoppers separately to prevent them from dealing excessive tank damage during the wait.
