Defeat Rattlegore without allowing him to gain more than 5 stacks of Rusting in Scholomance on Heroic Difficulty.

Rattle No More is a 10-point Heroic difficulty achievement earned by defeating Rattlegore in Scholomance without allowing him to accumulate more than 5 stacks of Rusting.

1

Understand Rusting Stacks

Rattlegore gains a stack of Rusting on every melee attack, increasing his damage by 15% per stack but reducing his attack and movement speed by 5% per stack for 15 seconds. At 5 stacks his movement speed is reduced by 25%, which is the window to act before the next stack pushes over the limit.

2

Two-Taunt Method (Recommended)

Have your main tank start in the bottom right corner of the room and a second player with a taunt ability position in the opposite top left corner. Tank Rattlegore normally until he reaches 4 stacks, then have the second player taunt him across the room. Just before Rattlegore reaches the second player, the main tank taunts him back — by then the stacks will have expired, and the cycle repeats.

3

Kiting Method (Alternative)

A single tank can kite Rattlegore around the outer edge of the room, hugging the walls to avoid flames and letting stacks fall off during the run. Paladin tanks can use Judgment on cooldown to maintain threat at range while kiting. DPS must avoid high-threat abilities such as a Death Knight's Army of the Dead, a Hunter's Stampede, or a Shaman's elementals, as pulling aggro while the tank is kiting will break the rotation.

Tips

  • At max level you can enter Scholomance solo and nuke Rattlegore down fast enough that stacks do not become an issue.
