My Shady Nemesis
Defeat Nullaeus in his lair before the release of the next season of delves.
My Shady Nemesis requires you to defeat Nullaeus in his lair, rewarding the Nullaeus Domaneye toy upon completion.
Pick Up Prerequisite Quest
Visit Valeera in Silvermoon City and accept the Nulling Nullaeus quest before entering the fight. Completing this quest and its prerequisites rewards a free toy and a full 100 coffer key shards.
Bring Valeera Into the Fight
Bring Valeera as your companion, set to DPS, Tank, or Healer depending on your class. When set to DPS or Tank she will automatically kick Emptiness of the Void for you, and her healing can save you if you fall behind on mechanics.
Interrupt Emptiness of the Void
Interrupt Nullaeus's Emptiness of the Void every time it is cast, as it deals approximately 660, 000 damage if it lands. If your class has an immunity such as Aspect of the Turtle or Ice Block, you can use that instead of an interrupt.
Manage Devouring Essence
Devouring Essence is a non-kickable cast that always targets you regardless of pet aggro, dealing approximately 30, 000 shadow damage every 2 seconds. Protection Warriors can use Spell Reflection on it, and all classes should rotate personal defensives during this effect.
Handle Intermission Adds
Nullaeus has three add intermissions during the fight. Burst down adds when possible, but if adds survive into the next phase they can be cleaved alongside the boss. The second add wave is generally the easiest due to cleave damage carrying over.
Avoid Environmental Hazards
Move out of purple void zones on the ground and be aware that a gravity orb mechanic can pull you away from Nullaeus at key moments, making it harder to reach him in time to interrupt. Prioritize repositioning quickly so you are in range for interrupts.
Tips
Completing the Nulling Nullaeus quest chain before defeating Nullaeus awards a free toy in addition to the achievement reward.
At higher gear levels such as 249 item level, the fight is straightforward with consistent interrupts and defensive rotations, making a first-try clear realistic.
