Deck Defender
Defeat Warmaster Blackhorn on Normal or Heroic Difficulty without allowing any Twilight Barrages to damage the Skyfire.
Deck Defender is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Warmaster Blackhorn on Normal or Heroic difficulty without letting any Twilight Barrage attacks from the Twilight Assault Drakes hit the Skyfire.
Track the achievement
Before starting the fight, track the achievement by shift-clicking it in the Achievement tab. If the achievement text on the right side of your screen turns red at any point during the encounter, you have failed and should jump off the edge of the ship to reset and try again.
Kill drakes immediately
As soon as a Twilight Assault Drake appears and is within range, kill it immediately — this is the top priority. There are 3 waves with 2 Twilight Assault Drakes each. Killing them before they cast Twilight Barrage is what earns the achievement. Use a targeting macro (/target Twilight Assault Drake, then cast a ranged spell) to quickly switch to each drake.
Let adds land on the ship
Do not kill a Twilight Assault Drake before its Vrykul riders have dismounted and landed on the ship. If the drake is killed while still carrying the riders and they never land, the encounter will bug out, someone will die, and the fight will reset.
Kill riders as secondary priority
After the Vrykul riders have dropped onto the ship, kill them as a secondary priority. Soak the swirling puddles on the deck when they appear to reduce damage to the ship.
Engage Warmaster Blackhorn
Once all Twilight Assault Drakes are dead, Warmaster Blackhorn boards the ship. At this point Twilight Barrage is no longer a concern — simply burn him down to complete the encounter and earn the achievement. Note that Goronia's Twilight Onslaught can damage the ship but does not affect this achievement.
Tips
Normal difficulty is recommended for this achievement since it gives more room for error, though Heroic also counts.
If a Twilight Barrage is soaked by players rather than hitting the ship directly, the achievement is not failed — having multiple players spread across the ship helps absorb any barrages that are not blocked by killing the drake in time.
