Defeat Mannoroth in Well of Eternity on Heroic Difficulty after dealing enough damage to Mannoroth while Varo'then is still alive to cause him to sacrifice Varo'then to heal himself.

That's Not Canon! is a 10-point Heroic difficulty achievement earned by dealing enough damage to Mannoroth in Well of Eternity to force him to sacrifice Varo'then to heal himself, then defeating him.

1

Enter Well of Eternity

Set the dungeon to Heroic difficulty and enter Well of Eternity, then begin damaging Mannoroth.

2

Trigger Varo'then Sacrifice

Deal damage to Mannoroth until he reaches around 90% health, at which point he will sacrifice Varo'then to heal himself, triggering the achievement condition.

3

Pick Up Varo'then's Sword

Use the sword dropped by Varo'then after the sacrifice; it causes Mannoroth to take approximately 1 million damage randomly on hit with no internal cooldown, so faster attack speeds increase how often it procs.

4

DPS Mannoroth to 50%

Continue damaging Mannoroth to around 50% health, at which point Illidan grants everyone a buff that restores 20% of maximum health every 2 seconds and deals 30,000 AoE damage per second to enemies nearby.

5

Stack and Finish the Boss

Stack on Mannoroth and deal damage until he reaches 25–30% health, at which point a cutscene triggers and the encounter ends, awarding the achievement.

Tips

  • Equip fast weapons to maximize procs from Varo'then's sword — Shamans should use two one-handed weapons and Hunters should spam Steady Shot with haste cooldowns active.
