A Coin of Ancestry is earned by speaking to any Elder scattered throughout Azeroth during the Lunar Festival, a seasonal event that runs for approximately 21 days starting on the second-to-last Sunday of January through the second Saturday of February.

The Lunar Festival begins on the second-to-last Sunday of January and ends on the second Saturday of February, lasting approximately 21 days — the achievement cannot be completed outside this window.
Locate and speak to an Elder
Find any Elder located throughout Azeroth and speak to them to receive a Coin of Ancestry, which is all that is required to earn this achievement.
Spend coins on festival rewards
Coins of Ancestry can be spent on items including the 
Lunar Lantern, Festival Lantern, 
Festive Green Dress, 
Festive Purple Dress, 
Festive Pink Dress, 
Festive Black Pant Suit, 
Festive Blue Pant Suit, and 
Festive Teal Pant Suit.
