Heroic: Shannox
Defeat Shannox in Firelands on Heroic Difficulty.
Heroic: Shannox is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Shannox in the Firelands raid on Heroic difficulty.
Enter Firelands on Heroic
Set the raid to Heroic difficulty and enter Firelands. Engage Shannox along with his two dogs, Riplimb and Rageface.
Control Rageface with Crystal Traps
Rageface must be interrupted during Face Rage by dealing 30,000 damage in a single hit on 10-player, or 45, 000 on 25-player. Since the hotfix, all attacks on Rageface during Face Rage are guaranteed critical strikes, so assign at least one strong single-hit damage dealer — casters such as Mages are well-suited for this role.
Manage Riplimb with Crystal Traps
Riplimb resurrects to full health 30 seconds after being killed, so use Crystal Prison traps to immobilize him and prevent his bleed stacks on the tank from reaching unhealable levels. Both dogs gain a stacking Feeding Frenzy buff that increases their damage by 5% per melee hit and lasts 20 seconds, so trap them before stacks become dangerous.
Disarm Immolation Traps
Assign a Rogue to disarm Shannox's Immolation Traps, as their damage is severe if triggered. Never allow a raid member to be caught in a Crystal Prison trap, since each trap is a limited resource and a wasted one can cost the encounter.
Nuke Shannox to Defeat
Focus damage on Shannox himself while keeping the dogs controlled via traps. Defeat Shannox to earn the achievement.
