Begin digging as soon as Cataclysm launches to compete for the realm first. One player completed this in approximately 32.5 hours of playtime with around one to one and a half hours of breaks total.
Use Mage Teleports Efficiently
Mages hold a travel advantage by using Teleport to Dalaran followed by the portal to the Caverns of Time to reach the bottom of Kalimdor quickly, cutting travel time between dig sites significantly.
Set a Strong Hearthstone Location
Positioning your Hearthstone at a central hub lets you return quickly between dig site runs, reducing overall travel time across the grind from 1 to 525.
Tips
Starting the grind at level 80 will yield roughly one character level per 8 hours of Archaeology farming as a side effect of the skill grind.
