Realm First! Illustrious Cook
First person on the realm to achieve 525 skill in cooking.
Realm First! Illustrious Cook is awarded to the first player on the realm to reach 525 skill in cooking when Cataclysm launches, requiring banked materials, daily quest tokens, and a visit to a cooking trainer before beginning to cook.
Learn cooking from trainer
Visit Stephen Ryback in Old Town, Stormwind to learn the higher ranks of cooking. All cooking trainers know all ranks, so there is no need to travel to Outland or Northrend.
Stock Crates of Tasty Meat
Use cooking daily quest tokens from alts to purchase Crates of Tasty Meat at 2 tokens per crate before Cataclysm goes live. These crates and the meat inside are not bound, so they can be moved between characters or purchased from the Auction House.
Save tokens on your main
Reserve tokens on your main character to purchase the required cooking recipes rather than spending them on crates. Note that the daily quest 'Everything is Better with Bacon' awards 2 tokens instead of 1, so prioritize completing it to accumulate tokens faster.
Skill up from 450 to 475
Cook Salted Eye or Seasoned Crab from 450 to 475 using the meat stockpiled from crates. Also consider using Toughened Flesh, which can be obtained from Crates of Tasty Meat, to push skill beyond 475. Note that Fish Feast turns grey at 465 and most other Northrend recipes turn grey at 475.
Cook to 525 immediately at launch
As soon as Cataclysm is active, begin cooking your banked materials to reach 525. Expect some skill-up gaps where recipes are green or yellow, so having extra materials available from the Auction House reduces the risk of falling short.
Tips
This achievement goes to whichever prepared player logs in and cooks first at launch — having all materials ready before Cataclysm activates is the only way to compete.
The 'Everything is Better with Bacon' cooking daily has been confirmed to award 2 tokens and can be used to accelerate crate purchases on alts.
