Breaking the Sound Barrier is a 10-point achievement earned by learning the Master Riding skill.
Learn Master Riding
Purchase the Master Riding skill from a riding trainer. The skill costs 
4,000 gold regardless of which trainer you visit. Alternatively, completing the 'What a Long Strange Trip It's Been' achievement also awards Master Riding as of patch 4.0.3, and the 
Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake is its reward mount.
Tips
Goblin characters no longer receive their Best Deals Anywhere racial discount on vendors with no attached reputations, so the cost remains 4,000 gold for all races as of the January 6th hotfix.
