Defeat Magmaw in Blackwing Descent on Heroic Difficulty.
Heroic: Magmaw is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Magmaw on Heroic difficulty inside Blackwing Descent.
Enter Blackwing Descent
Enter Blackwing Descent and engage Magmaw on Heroic difficulty. Every 35 seconds, Nefarian summons a Blazing Bone Construct via a falling Meteor (Blazing Inferno) that deals around 75, 000 fire damage on impact.
Dodge the Meteor Impact
Watch for the ground indicator marking where the Blazing Inferno Meteor will land — it looks similar to the Pillar of Flame ground effect — and move away before it hits, as the impact deals roughly 75,000 fire damage.
Avoid Ignition Fire Patches
After the Meteor lands, it leaves Ignition fire patches on the ground in an S-shaped pattern that move quickly and deal approximately 55, 000 fire damage per second, so never stand near them as there is not enough time to escape without a major damage mitigation cooldown.
Kite Moving Fire Patches
As the Ignition patches move across the arena, the raid must continuously reposition to avoid them, effectively kiting around the area throughout the fight.
Survive Armageddon Casts
When any Blazing Bone Construct reaches 20% health, it begins casting Armageddon, an 8-second cast that deals approximately 125, 000 fire damage on completion, so prioritize burning down or interrupting Constructs before this cast finishes.
Handle Nefarian at 30%
Once Magmaw drops to 30% health, Blazing Bone Constructs stop spawning and Nefarian instead begins dealing shadow area-of-effect damage to random raid members continuously until Magmaw is defeated, so push hard on Magmaw's health in this final phase.
