Gemcrafter Extraordinaire
Cut 2,500 Superior or better gems.
Gemcrafter Extraordinaire requires you to cut 2,500 Superior or better gems as a Jewelcrafter, counting only gems cut after joining a guild.
Stock Up on Gems
Purchase uncut blue-quality gems from the Auction House, including Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King blues, which all count toward the 2,500 total. Cutting and vendoring them can offset some of the cost.
Cut Gems for Progress
Cut every Superior (blue) or better gem you acquire, including old-world blues and epics from Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. Alchemy transmutes of gems also count as cuts toward this achievement.
Use Rogue Legendary Clusters
Opening Shadowy Gem Clusters from the Dragon Soul rogue legendary quest chain counts toward this achievement, though whether each cluster counts as one gem or the sum of gems inside is not fully determined.
Tips
Reputation standing does not affect whether gem cuts count — cuts at Neutral through Exalted all progress the achievement.
Only gem cuts made after joining a guild count; cuts performed before joining do not contribute to the total.
