Create 3,000 Cataclysm flasks.
Better Leveling Through Chemistry requires you to create 3,000 Cataclysm flasks across five flask types, rewarding the recipe for the Big Cauldron of Battle upon completion.
Learn the Five Flask Recipes
You need to craft five different Cataclysm flasks: Flask of the Winds, Flask of Titanic Strength, Flask of Draconic Mind, Flask of Flowing Water, and Flask of Steelskin. Crystal Vials required for crafting can be purchased from an Alchemy vendor.
Gather Required Herb Materials
Each flask requires 8 Volatile Life plus 8 of two specific herbs per craft. Flask of the Winds needs Azshara's Veil and Whiptail; Flask of Titanic Strength needs Cinderbloom and Whiptail; Flask of Draconic Mind needs Azshara's Veil and Twilight Jasmine; Flask of Flowing Water needs Stormvine and Heartblossom; Flask of Steelskin needs Cinderbloom and Twilight Jasmine. You will need at least 4 bank characters to store the raw materials.
Craft 600 of Each Flask
Craft 600 of each of the five flasks to reach the 3,000 total required. If your alchemist has the Elixir specialization, proc'd extra flasks count toward the achievement total, which can meaningfully reduce the number of crafting attempts needed.
Coordinate Guild Flask Storage
Rather than crafting only enough for a single raid night, have your guild stockpile flasks over time to reach 3,000 faster. Flasks stored in bulk also serve a dual purpose, since flasks are consumed when creating cauldrons once the Big Cauldron of Battle recipe is unlocked.
Tips
Elixir-specialized alchemists receive bonus procs when crafting flasks, and those extra flasks count toward the 3,000 total, reducing the raw material cost per point of progress.
Splitting raw material storage across at least 4 bank characters is necessary to hold the full quantity of herbs needed for 3, 000 flasks.
