Complete the jousting quests in Mount Hyjal up to and including Egg Wave.
Beware of the 'Unbeatable?' Pterodactyl is a 10-point achievement earned in Mount Hyjal by completing a series of jousting quests culminating in the Egg Wave.
Understand the Controls
Flapping your wings moves you upward and also boosts you in the direction you are facing, so to change direction you must both turn and flap simultaneously.
Survive the Rock Waves
During the second and third waves, falling rocks do not immediately fail the quest — you can take two or three hits, then dismount and grab a new mount to continue.
Collect Eggs in Final Wave
On the Egg Wave, take off from the questgiver and head along the left wall, dropping slightly downward to reach a large ledge where no rocks fall and eggs respawn rapidly — stay there to collect them efficiently.
