Dig Up Fossil Rares
Excavate Fossil dig sites to uncover rare artifacts including 
Fossilized Hatchling, 
Fossilized Raptor, 
Extinct Turtle Shell, 
Pterrordax Hatchling, and 
Ancient Amber.
Dig Up Troll Rares
Work Troll dig sites to assemble 
Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, 
Voodoo Figurine, and 
Haunted War Drum.
Dig Up Dwarf Rares
Excavate Dwarf dig sites for 
Clockwork Gnome, 
The Innkeeper's Daughter, 
Chalice of the Mountain Kings, and 
Staff of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan.
Dig Up Night Elf Rares

Use Fast Travel to Speed Digging
Cut down travel time between dig sites using available shortcuts: in the Eastern Kingdoms, use the portal between Twilight Highlands and Stormwind if you completed the starting quests there, and use the portal near the mage trainer in any major city to reach Blasted Lands quickly; in Outland, major city portals to Blasted Lands connect you to Hellfire Peninsula; in Northrend, the Argent Crusader's Tabard provides a 30-minute cooldown teleport to Icecrown.

You only need 20 of the total rare artifacts listed, not every single one, so focus on whichever dig sites are most accessible to you first.
